“A very honest, well informed sales team who answered every question with patience and first class knowledge. I revisited a number of times to clarrify my understanding and to be sure of every detail, especially as I was ordering to a 'cut size'. There were also occasions when i messaged late afternoon re cut sizes to allow for finials; retuned answers shortly afterwards. The company obviously puts a great deal on customer care. Outstanding company from my experience. One work in progress- yes the middle finial I have modified ?”

“Can't fault this company, ordered before and was pleased. Ordered yet another two, not the cheapest BUT received quickly, packaged sooo well and just perfect. Plus not had any issues with my track I got last time. Refreshing to not have to complain, nothing to complain about.”

“Arrived swiftly at a difficult house to find and DHL driver couldn’t do more, called before hand as I had asked, and called to check when they couldn’t find it. . Great job. They do like to have instructions if leaving unattended. Item is excellent t quality and was easy to install. Expensive ish (for aluminium curtain rail) but worth it.”

We are a little disappointed that you chose to raise this for the first time in a review rather than contacting us directly. Had you sent us a quick email, ideally with a photograph of the brackets, we would have been more than happy to look into this and provide fitting advice or investigate whether there was an issue with the components supplied. We genuinely encourage customers to contact us if something doesn't appear right during installation. It gives us the opportunity to understand the problem and, more importantly, help resolve it before unnecessary additional DIY work is carried out. We're always happy to help — we just need the opportunity to do so.

“I was pretty disappointed with my purchase. I bought the Silent Gliss 6840 Uncorded Aluminium White Curtain Track. It was expensive and I ordered the recommended brackets. I admit I don’t know much about curtain poles and perhaps should have read the description more closely, but I wasn’t expecting the brackets to be so visible, and there was nothing in the pictures to suggest they would look like they do. The dark inside of the track also shows up in a way that looks cheap and doesn’t blend in. All in all, not happy at all.”

As you have acknowledged in your review, the product description may not have been read as closely as it could have been before ordering. With specialist made-to-measure curtain systems, we always recommend reviewing the product information and specifications carefully before purchase. We would also like to clarify your comment regarding the “recommended brackets.” We did not personally recommend or select these brackets for your installation. The track is available with different compatible bracket options, and the bracket option supplied was the one selected when the order was placed. Silent Gliss is a premium specialist curtain track manufacturer, and the 6840 is designed around quality, strength and smooth curtain operation. The brackets are functional components of the system and, depending on the installation position and viewing angle, may remain visible. We appreciate that aesthetically this may not be what you personally expected. However, this does not mean that the track is cheaply manufactured or that there is a fault with the product. If appearance or bracket visibility is particularly important, we are always happy to provide advice before an order is placed. We would much rather a customer contact us with any uncertainty so that we can discuss the available options before a made-to-measure product is manufactured. We are therefore disappointed that the product has received a negative review based largely on aesthetic expectations, particularly when no advice regarding the bracket choice was sought from us before ordering and you acknowledge that the product information may not have been reviewed closely. Nevertheless, we appreciate your feedback and are sorry that the finished appearance was not what you had anticipated.

We have checked our correspondence and cannot find any email or message from you advising us of a delivery problem. Unfortunately, if you contact XDP directly but do not inform us that your order has not arrived, we have no way of knowing that there is an issue or an opportunity to resolve it for you. Hi Sam, Please use the connector internally between the two poles. The silver colour of the connector is not relevant, as the connector should be pushed inside both pole sections to join them together. Once correctly fitted, the connector will be completely hidden from view. Please ensure that each pole section is pushed securely onto the connector to create a firm joint.

“Good delivery turn around. Purchased a Silent Gliss 3900 White Corded Metal Curtain Track. The mounting clips for the metal rail do require a bit of precision when fiixing it to the window frame. They do not tolerate an irregular alignment but once in place they hold firmly. The draw strings run smoothly even with heavy curtains.”

“Order no 135378. I ordered a Swish curtain track plus a pack of 10 extra gliders and a pack of 5 extra brackets. The order was acknowledged and I received the curtain track in good time and undamaged. The remainder of the order was delivered 2 days later. The remainder included the pack of extra gliders and the extra mounting brackets. Unfortunately although I had ordered a pack of 5 brackets, I was supplied with a pack of 1. I contacted the store who apologised and promised to send out the remaining brackets by post, to be posted Monday 24th August. I have not received them yet, so I have been unable to fit the rail up to now as I do need to use extra brackets. Based upon the quick delivery and the apology and promise to send the missing items, I rate them well, but slightly disappointed.”

When you contacted us to advise that only one bracket had been received instead of the pack of five ordered, we apologised and arranged for the remaining brackets to be sent to you by post. We are therefore disappointed to learn through this review that these have still not arrived, as unfortunately we had not received any further contact from you to let us know. Postal items can occasionally be delayed or lost in transit, and had we been made aware that the replacement brackets had not arrived, we could have looked into this for you rather than leaving you unable to install your track. “Ordered 494cm legth of track. Arrived slightly damaged. You sent a replacement telling me to dispose of original. I didnt want replacent because despite slight damage, it was usable and we didnt have time to wait for replacement. I now have two 5 metres heavy cardboard tubes and a perfectly good piece of 494cm track clogging up my garage. Just gonna go to waste.”

Thank you for your review. We are a little disappointed by your comments, as the actions we took were intended to resolve the issue quickly and minimise inconvenience to you. You contacted us to advise that your 494cm made-to-measure track had arrived damaged. Rather than asking you to package and return an almost 5-metre-long track, we arranged a replacement and advised that you could dispose of the damaged original. This was intended to save you the considerable inconvenience of having to arrange the return of such a large item. We appreciate that you subsequently decided the original track was usable and that you no longer required the replacement. Had we known this before the replacement was dispatched, we could have discussed the available options with you. We are also sorry that you are now left with packaging to dispose of. Unfortunately, a track of almost five metres requires substantial protective packaging to transport it safely. When a customer reports an item as damaged, our priority is to put the matter right, and in this instance we supplied a complete replacement without requiring the damaged track to be returned. “Good product let down by packaging. Minimal internal packing to protect product from being damaged. The external packaging was torn and damaged in arrival. We were going to sign the delivery drivers tablet to state this, but we're told there was no option to allow us to do so!!!”

We are particularly concerned by your comment that you attempted to report the damaged packaging to the driver but were told there was no option to do so. Our customers are advised to report visible transit damage at the point of delivery, as this is important evidence when we raise a claim with the courier. We would have appreciated the opportunity to investigate this for you directly before the review was posted. Had you contacted us to let us know what the driver had said, we could have raised this with the courier and looked into the circumstances of the delivery. We take reports of damaged packaging seriously, and if the courier did not allow you to record the condition of the parcel when you specifically requested to do so, this is something we would like to investigate.
